Post-Operative Care

Post-operative care begins in the recovery room and continues throughout the recovery period at home or in a professional care setting. Critical concerns are airway clearance, pain control, mental status, and wound healing. Preventing urinary retention, constipation, deep venous thrombosis, and blood pressure variability (high or low) is also important. Post-operative care is given after surgery and, in some cases, it continues on an ambulatory basis. Post-operative care is aimed at meeting the patient’s physical and psychological needs directly after surgery.

The goal of CareWorld Care Services is to facilitate the service user’s return to the home care setting as quickly as possible. We provide the post-operative care support needed in the home, where research shows recovery times and quality of life are significantly improved.

CareWorld is a preferred provider of home care services to the HSE.  We provide services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  A CareWorld supervisor can be reached around the clock. Our care and support staff are fully trained, supervised, spot-checked, garda-vetted and insured.  Grants are available from the HSE that will help cover the cost of our service. Tax relief is also available for those who qualify.
