FUNDING CARE
There are many ways to fund home care. Often service users will find themselves using a combination of several sources including HSE grants, tax allowances of up to 41% to a maximum of €50,000 per annum, family contributions, insurance policies on maturity, private pensions and releasing equity from client’s home.

Those requiring long-term residential nursing home care may apply for funding through the government’s recently announced Fair Deal for nursing home care. To find out if you are eligible to receive public funding contact your Local Health Office and/or Public Health Nurse for more information. Currently, there is no Fair Deal for home care.

PAYING PRIVATELY
CareWorld will work with service users and their families to maximise the available budgets from whatever source. We provide a range of support options, from a one hour visit to overnight stays. We also offer live-in care and specialised supports. You can count on our years of experience in care to help you to plan the most efficient care plan based on the service user’s needs, the available budget and our specialised resources.

Not everyone can get all the care they need through publicly funded social care services for home care purposes. For this reason many people may wish to organise care and support outside of the HSE. In fact, most people ‘top up’ the amount of care they’re allocated through government funding by adding privately funded additional hours. Certain privately funded care is subject to tax relief. To find out if you are eligible consult your accountant and/or the Revenue Commissioners for more information. Click here for more information.

PRICING
Care is priced by the hour or by the shift (multiple hours) depending on the length of the call and the number of visits per week.

Rates will vary according to:
•  What time of day or night the care and support takes place

•  Whether the care or support falls on a public holiday

•  How long the care call lasts

•  How many care workers it takes to do a call (sometimes certain tasks will need two people for safety reasons, e.g. when there is a hoist in use)

Some people may consider putting a notice up in their local shop to find someone living nearby. Others will prefer and expect a professional service. The two are very different. We are a preferred provider of home care services to the HSE, auditable and accountable at all times. When you buy an hour of care from CareWorld, you get a trained professional carer on your doorstep at the time you request to provide one-on-one care, morning, noon or night, rain, hail, snow emergency or shine. That person has been carefully screened and garda vetted. They are regularly supervised and spot-checked by a qualified nurse. You will have access to an around the clock on-call service 365 days a year. The nurse supervisor and care manager are available to be contacted on their mobiles at any time, and the office staff will always be happy to respond to your queries. They are there to provide the back-up service that ensures you get the continuity and support you require at all times. Each employee is covered by our comprehensive insurance plan. We recruit, train and pay the employee directly and collect all government taxes. We pay Employer’s PRSI. We pay holiday pay and we pay bank holiday pay. Care workers are regularly invited to the office for on-going training and staff meetings for which they are paid. In other words, we manage and pay for every aspect of quality control and human resources so that you and your loved ones can rest easy.
